Whitteker Bus Lines Ltd. has always been actively involved in providing bus safety training to the schools and school boards it operates for.  Annually we provide First Rider Training to new junior kindergarten students and always encourage their parents to be present and to participate. In addition to first rider training, we also offer bus safety programs, upon request, for all grades in elementary schools we service.  We offer Pooh’s Great Adventure to grades JK-3, Be Cool, Follow the Rules to grades 4-6 and Practice Makes Perfect to grades 7 & 8, Emergency Evacuation to grades JK-6.  We always ask school staff and administrators to participate in this process.

Student safety is reviewed regularly with our staff.  We review all important issues prior to the start-up of school each September and remind or revisit key issues through the year by way of newsletters and training courses.  We currently have a full-time driver that teaches bus safety to the schools that request it.  We are in the process of training other drivers to act as alternates in presenting these programs to schools.  Whitteker Bus Lines Ltd. has always been supportive of these programs and has always worked closely with Upper Canada District School Board, Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and Consortium de transport scolaire de l’Est in offering and presenting these programs to the schools.
